What personal data Sooquna collects and why.
Last updated: 21 October 2026
Who we are
Sooquna runs the Sooquna e-commerce platform at sooquna.com and sooquna.qa. For the personal data of merchants and visitors to this website, Sooquna is the controller. For the data of your store's customers, you are the controller and Sooquna processes it on your behalf (see our Data processing agreement). You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
Account details you give us (name, email address, phone number, store name and staff you invite); billing details when paid plans start; the content you add to your store; technical data such as IP address, browser, device and sign-in times, used for security; and messages you send us. This website measures visits without cookies.
Why we use it
To create and run your account and store, to keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse, to send emails the service needs (such as sign-in links, trial reminders and order notifications), to answer your questions, and to improve Sooquna. We send marketing emails only if you agree, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell personal data.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the providers that help us run Sooquna, under contracts that protect it: DigitalOcean (hosting and database), Cloudflare (network, security and file storage), SMTP2GO (email delivery) and Meta (WhatsApp messages, when a store turns them on). Payment providers and couriers you connect receive the order data they need. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Sooquna's servers and database are in DigitalOcean's data centre in Bangalore, India. Images and files are stored on Cloudflare R2 and delivered through Cloudflare's global network. Data is encrypted in transit, and sensitive settings such as payment provider keys are also encrypted at rest.
How long we keep it
We keep account and store data for as long as your account is open. When a store is closed, we delete its data within 90 days. Security logs are kept for up to 12 months. Records we must keep by law, such as invoices, are kept for the period the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. Customers of a Sooquna store should first contact that store, which decides how their data is used; we help the store answer.
